Performance study of the Jalousie detector baseline design for the ESS thermal powder diffractometer HEIMDAL through GEANT4 simulations

DREAM Endcap detectors successfully tested July 8-14, 2019 at HZB beamline V20 in Berlin.

The endcap zero series detector for the future ESS instrument DREAM was thoroughly tested at the HZB neutron beamline V20. A joint team from CDT, FZ-Jülich, ESS and CNRS-Saclay realized the evaluating beamtime, hosted by HZB-personnel.

The photograph was taken after successful operation. The zero-series detector covering 12° of an endcap area can be seen in the back.

The endcap zero series detector is proved to work as expected.
